There is a stigma surrounding Network Marketing and I'm confused by it. Let's look at what Network Marketing really is. Network Marketing is NOT a “Pyramid Scam” – those are illegal. Pyramids are strictly a money game and has no basis in real commerce. Normally, there is no product involved at all, just money changing hands. Someone has to loose money, for the other person to make money. Network Marketing is a legitimate business with legitimate products. Many people have made a GREAT DEAL OF MONEY, but this is a result of their own efforts.
In Network Marketing, each person can multiply his/her efforts, skills and talents by helping others be successful. Network Marketing has proved itself as part of the new economy and a preferred way to do business all over the world.
It isn't about taking advantage of your friends and relatives (insert eye roll). In fact, the majority of my current clients are people I only just met, through networking. The majority of my friends/family haven't purchased anything from me and won't consider looking at this opportunity. And I've learned that is ok. Like I said, Network Marketing isn't for everyone.
Network Marketing isn't a “get-rick-quick” scheme. But it is a real opportunity that doesn't require a lot of skillset – prior to starting.
“if you are in business only for the money, you should quit right now” Donald Trump.
This is so true. I joined my company to get the discount. I joined before trying the product. Once I tried the product, I fell in LOVE with it. I sell the product, the opportunity is another advantage of my company that I offer to my clients. If was doing this, only for the money – there is no way I could succeed. I don't have it in me to promote a product I don't like……
Why did I start with Network Marketing? Because I make recommendations all of the time. I am constantly telling others about my favorite products, restaurants, clothing shops and movies. Well – now I tell them about products that I'm selling and in the meantime I'm making a pretty nice income.
I've been a stay at home mom for 3 years – and while I do love it – it gets boring sometimes. I've found that by networking I am able to talk to other people daily (on my own schedule) – I get to have conversations with adults, not just the kiddo and hubby (after he gets home from a long day and is exhausted by my constant rambling – because I finally have an adult to speak to) LOLOLOL!!!! Prior to staying home with my kiddos, I worked as a Registered Nurse – so it's my nature to connect/converse with people. I was starving for more interaction with ADULTS!
So why would network marketing NOT be for you?
- You don't like connecting with new people
- You are satisfied with your current JOB/income
- You already have a plan to retire and are perfectly happy with that plan.
- You don't have thick skin – there are many skeptics out there and VERY RUDE/MEAN people.
In conclusion – Network Marketers are real people working real jobs and earning a real income. Maybe this opportunity isn't for you but you know what – I never thought it would be for me either…….
